Journaling my walk with God.

Never a Dull Moment

Children are quite entertaining.  I love listening to them interact with one another.  I love hearing their explanation of the world around them.  I don't love it when they are disrespectful, but I have to admit that I am often entertained by their reactions.  I would love a record of these moments.  I thought maybe I could record it on here.  Maybe someone else will be entertained as well.  :)

**My son loved the Disney movie "Tarzan".  That became very apparent when he grabbed the detachable shower head and swung into the bathtub.  His little leg knocked into the metal button that is pulled up when the shower is running.  This literally broke the button completely off of the faucet.  He had a long bruise on his leg and I had a permanent look of disbelief on my face.
**I saw my baby boy playfully splashing in a puddle of water.  It was really cute accept for the fact that we were in the house.  I quickly began grilling the children, "Now who spilled this water and didn't clean it up?".  Everyone denied it.  I then made my way over to my 3 year old daughter who was potty training.  She stood in a corner with a guilty look on her face and her hands covering her wet pants.  Baths for both Baby Boy and Little Girl quickly followed.

**One of my children had received a bit of discipline.  He began to argue with me about the punishment.  I said, "You are arguing.  That is disrespectful and will only get you in more trouble."  He proceeded to tell me that "We live in America.  In America, we have a right to protest."  Ummm.....I'm glad he's listening in class????  That is the bright side, right?

**I loved that my super hero fanatic children had become quite interested in Bible Man.  I appreciated the life lessons it was teaching them.  I loved that it was filled with scripture and teachings about God's character and the power of prayer.
Imagine my joy when I overheard my boys playing Bible Man one day.  Boy #3 made Boy #2 very angry.  The game was just not going as he had planned.  Boy #2 raised up his sword and said, "Genesis 14:6 says, 'When your brother makes you mad, DEFEND YOURSELF!'".  He continued by whacking his brother across the head with his sword of the spirit.
In writing this, I hesitated to put quotes around the "scripture".  I don't think you'll find it anywhere in the Bible, and certainly not in Genesis 14:6.

**My little guy was learning that when you put letters together, they make words.  He came to me and whispered, "Mommy, Sister thinks yellow is spelled 4-5-6, but I know it is really spelled L-O."  I didn't tell him any different at the time.  I told him he did a good job listening for the right sounds.

**My daughter was sitting in the backseat of my car.  She had just woken up from a nap.  I kept glancing in the rearview mirror.  She had a very grumpy look on her face.  I told her that I missed her pretty smile.  She said, "Mommy, when I sleep, my smile goes away."  Future coffee drinker like her mommy?  I think so.

**My second oldest was simply adorable.  He asked me if God made him.  I told him, "Yes, God made you.  God made everything."  He took his hand and gestured from his toes going up to his precious little blonde head while saying, "And look how He painted me!"  I knelt down with big puddles of love in my eyes.  I looked in to his Bambi browns and said, "Yes, baby.  He painted you beautifully."  :)
